My friend, Gary Smith, is a partner in a wine cooperative whose brand name is Phantom Rivers in reference to the local coastal fog that flows through our valleys and keeps the grapes cool, which as I understand, lets them hang a little longer on the vine and improves the grapes. This is my best attempt so far to capture the ethereal Phantom Rivers.
