I like to attempt to capture the feeling of early last century Califronia tonalist paintings in some of my sunset shots. The early California tonalists said that the coastal California light had a different quality in the evening because of the effect of the ocean and the ocean atmosphere on the light.
The detail in the hills on the full size image is incredible.
